Imagine sipping hot chocolate too quickly! A woman has detailed how the inside of her v*gina was burned by Kegel eggs that was meant to strengthen her pelvic muscles.
    Rebecca Jane Stokes

A 32-year-old woman named Rebecca Jane Stokes, who is a writer in New York, has disclosed how her v*gina was burnt by Kegel-enhancing eggs she used aiming to strengthen her pelvic muscles

Explaining her bitter ordeal in an essay for 'YourTango', Rebecca who was testing out the very personal exercise tool for the first time, and thought she was following the directions, was a bit too hasty to get started after cleaning them, and ended up suffering an incredibly painful experience.

'I decided it would be a good idea to strength train my vagina prior to meeting my current bedfellow, Buddy,' she explained.

While some people do Kegel exercises with no tools at all, they can be done by repeatedly tensing and relaxing the muscles inside the vagina — it's become popular to enlist a little outside help by way of ben wa balls or yoni eggs.

Rebecca reportedly felt pretty confident about the strength of her pelvic muscles, but was also aware of the dangers of growing complacent. So, she turned to Etsy, where there are about a thousand listings for pelvic-floor-pumping eggs and balls.

Writer Rebecca Jane Stokes used one of these stone eggs to enhance her Kegel exercises but wound up in terrible pain

She herself picked out a kit of three stone marble eggs in various sizes, which arrives in a small pink Chinese-inspired silk bag. 'It contained three dark green marble eggs ranging from quail-sized to full-on Jumbo chicken. A plastic string was connected to each,' she explained.

Picking the medium-sized egg, Becca followed her colleague's advice for cleaning the egg first: She let them sit in a pot of boiling water.

She told Dailymail Online: 'I treated them pretty much like you would treat an actual egg you were boiling. They went for about 4-5 minutes. I waited another 4-5 before using them. This was foolhardy.'

In hindsight, Becca realizes she should have probably waited longer in between boiling the egg and inserting it. But because it didn't feel hot to the touch, she assumed the comfortably warm egg was ready to go.

She ordered the eggs, which have strings on the bottom for pulling out, from Etsy

'They felt warm but not abnormally so. If anything I thought it might even be pleasant. It wasn't: Imagine sipping hot chocolate too quickly and that terrible peeling on the top of your mouth. Now imagine that there is no hot chocolate and that instead you have shoved a boiling hot marble egg up yourself for purposes of vanity,' she said.

Though she called it a 'life-altering ordeal', she wasn't ready to give up on the eggs just yet. After overreacting and placing them in the freezer, she tried them once again a full day later.

If a bit too cold, they were, at least, unharmful this time around, and she went on to use the eggs for a week and they actually helped her muscles.

In fact, she added, she wouldn't warn off other women from using the eggs themselves, she'd just recommend cleaning with soap instead.
